Organic Lifestyles

Organic Lifestyles

The organic movement has its beginnings in our collective concern over environmental pollution.  The roots of the organic movement have widened to include a way of life that encompasses new terminology and new approaches.

We call this way of life "organic or green living".

America has the world's highest per capita greenhouse emissions--everyone is responsible for helping to reduce the carbon footprint.

With an organic lifestyle, we are opting for an ethical approach to living on the planet that seeks to improve upon the destructive patterns of behavior, both collectively and individually, that have caused global warming, environmental pollution and a vast number of ecological problems.

An awakening to a form of consciousness that enables us to live in harmony with nature, with the natural forces that govern all life is taking place in civilized cultures across the globe.  This new enlightenment is bringing about an evolution that is both spiritual and practical.

Practical applications of organic living include: buying organic foods and goods, supporting organic growers and green businesses, improving our homes by making them more energy efficient and easier on the environment.

Organic living means growing plants, whether we have a backyard, acreage to put in an extensive vegetable and herb garden or whether we’re big-city apartment dwellers with only enough light to grow a sprout garden.  This approach begins to elucidate the adoption of modern permaculture, which will set us on the road to reinitiating our ancient relationship to plants and the natural life around us.

Permaculture uses a blend of gardening, landscaping, phyto-medicine, herbology and the indigenous plants and culture in which we find ourselves. We must learn to integrate permaculture into our lives.

An organic lifestyle especially means using and developing methods of transportation that are aimed at reducing the amount of oil and gas we consume and lowering the amount carbon emissions we release into the atmosphere.  All of these choices serve to reduce our carbon footprint.

Spiritual applications of organic living mean that we consciously choose to adopt ways of life that serve the greater good.  The choice to live an organic lifestyle changes our dials in a frequency that is more positive, that vibrates at a higher frequency. This spark of consciousness ignites a nourishing flame within us that sets aglow the whole of humankind.

Organic lifestyles merge enlightened thinking with compassionate action.  Preserving the environment and caring for life on planet earth, will once again, bring us into balance and harmony with the natural world.
